An aneurysm is a bulge in a segment of the artery caused by disease or weakening of the vessel wall. When it occurs, the blood vessel may rupture and cause a stroke or life-threatening bleeding.
MicroVention produced by the coils are inserted, by an interventional neuroradiologist or neurosurgeon, in an artery in the groin of the patient through a catheter (small tube). The device consists of a dedicated wire which allows to reach the patient's brain through the arteries and, at whose end is located the platinum coil that fills and takes the shape of the affected section shaped balloon (plunger)
Wire is then removed leaving the coil in place and the gel expands it contains and allows the piston filler, reinforcing the affected area and preventing rupture.
This is a less invasive procedure than brain surgery, and enables the patient to return to their home 24 to 48 hours after the intervention.

In 1989, the Japanese government funded the Laboratory for International Fuzzy Engineering Research with an advance of some $35 million and more than 40 member firms. Japanese cars are starting to use fuzzy transmissions. In 1989, Honda awarded its prestigious Honda prize to Zadeh for his contributions to Japanese technology. U.S. companies have been extremely reluctant to jump on the fuzzy bandwagon. Exceptions are Rockwell, which markets several fuzzy devices; Otis Elevator; and General Motors, which uses fuzzy logic in the transmission of its Saturn car.

This can easily slant the reporting towards things (scientific controversies, new technology developments, etc) which are aligned with the business. A more general issue is lack of scientific sophistication among the public. As science continues to advance on so many fronts, it requires a deeper and broader familiarity with the underlying science …
